Pablo Neruda, the great Chilean poet had described “Spring” in his memoirs as, “Spring starts off with a wide spread yellow operation. Everything is covered with innumerable tiny golden flowers. This tiny powerful crop spreads over hillsides, circles rocks, presses on towards the sea, and springs up in the middle of our everyday paths, as if it were throwing us a challenge, proving to us that it is there. Those flowers had to endure an invisible life such a long time, the desolate denial of the barren earth kept them under such a long time, that they can’t seem to find enough room for their yellow abundance now.” We want to be the spring-starting off with a wide spread yellow operation of hope & joy, freshness, youth and energy; springing up in the middle of everyday lives, throwing up this challenge or that, taking part in this combat or that. Yes, we shall be the spring-the riot, the rebellion, the love the freedom!

And who are we? Just a magazine, called “Kindle”…This, my dear friend, is a claim which is the skeptic’s favorite kind of food-to be cut, dissected and torn into the tiniest shreds and fed to the dogs. Who reads the books? Who reads the magazines except to know the color of Paris Hilton’s thongs? It’s a medium that belonged to yesterday. No one likes paper! Look at the statistics-the magazine readership is at an all time low and tumbling downhill everyday.

But as Oscar Wilde had said, “There is more to a bird’s flight that can be tested in a crucible. And so, we remain unfazed. We are sorry Mr. Skeptic, but it doesn’t ruffle our single feather! Our deepest need is to publish the best possible magazine for young India and we have an idea and that’s all that matters! In an age where life transcends all existing structures each day, where new rules of conduct are formed each day, where things and people and nature metamorphose each day, where we live through enormous changes everyday-every idea has a possibility, every idea is exotic. And we have thrown ourselves into the ring-ready to bleed or win!

We shall be omnivorous-taking up every thought, every influence, every experience, every idea that comes our way, producing flowers and missiles with each issue that comes out-defying all odds! With our very first issue, we invite all of you to be a part of us, a part of our magazine. Let our voices unite and mingle, let’s jam or jar together, let’s create a song or make a noise together. Let’s break or create new grounds together, let us preserve & protect together, inspire & aspire together. And in this togetherness, perhaps we shall be persevering enough to travel a road less traveled and make a long journey full of many new discoveries.
